Project Description
SUNSHINE COAST PUBLIC UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
BEAVIS & BARTELS
The $1.8 billion Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital is due for completion in 2016 and will open with 450 beds in 2016 increasing to 738 beds by 2021. It is the first public hospital in Queensland delivered under the Public & Private Partnership (PPP) model and is aiming to receive a 4 Star Green Star “Design” and “As Built” ranking.
Commercial plumbing company Beavis & Bartels Pty Ltd, an industry leader in large scale hydraulic and drainage works, was awarded the tender for the plumbing installation work on this marquee project.
Around 130 metric tonne of Kembla copper tube is being used on the project, in addition to over $1 million worth of KemPress fittings, KemPress tools and plumbing fittings.
Managing Director of Beavis & Bartels, Michael Ryan, knew that choosing Kembla meant he could rely on one system, one brand and an impressive 25 year warranty.
The ‘Kembla system’ gives customers access to our technical knowledge and reliable personalised service throughout the installation process and beyond.
With such extensive use of the KemPress press-fit system on this project, Kembla arranged regular training of all operators, conducted on-site audits and kept in close contact with the Beavis & Bartels team throughout the project.
Kembla is known for its quality, reliability and service, which aligned perfectly with Beavis & Bartels robust Quality Management System.
As Michael Ryan explains, “when deciding on what product to use in any installation, it’s important to ensure you are dealing with a company with the same values and commitment to quality. Those foundations are what Beavis & Bartels have relied upon to be a Tier One industry leader”.
