Universal Fittings Profile
KemPress AS3688 fittings have been specifically designed with a unique press profile making it universally compatible with all tools in the Australian market Press fittings up to DN50 in copper and 54mm stainless steel have been specifically designed to be a universal fitting, that means it will work with all approved press-tools. The unique SA profile for sizes up to DN50 means you don’t need to worry about whether a press jaw is M or V Profile, KemPress fittings are guaranteed to work with any press jaw profile and tool on the market. All you need to make sure of is that you are using the right sized press jaw.
Push & Stay Technology
Press copper fittings up to DN50 are equipped with the unique ‘Push & Stay’ feature. Utilising strict process control, the tightest of manufacturing tolerances and the most accurate production technology, KemPress fittings have been designed to ensure the fitting is tight enough to stay on the tube prior to pressing. Such a feature is symbolic of the high quality manufacturing and quality control processes employed during manufacture. Kembla Copper Tube with KemCore Technology
Your press-fit system is only as good as the copper tube it’s connected to. Utilising our unique and innovative KemCore technology for sizes up to and including DN50, Kembla Copper Tube has superior concentricity and consistent wall thickness and is optimised for superior performance with press fittings. MM Kembla’s KemCore technology uses unrivalled measurement systems and process controls to deliver optimal structural integrity to ensure long term performance and reliability and optimal conditions under force when fittings are pressed onto it when used with press-fit/crimp systems.
Don’t compromise the quality of your press-fit system by choosing copper tube that’s not optimised for press-fittings.
Visual Press Identification
Once pressed, KemPress will not leak. The KemPress system has been designed to make it very obvious to detect unpressed fittings prior to commissioning of the system. Pressed and unpressed fittings are clearly distinguished on a visual inspection with clear indentation marks present on the fitting once a fitting has been pressed. In addition, on DN65-100 fittings also inspect the fitting for the presence of a KemPress label that is to be removed after pressing to indicate the fittings has been pressed.
As well as an Elastomeric O-ring, DN65-100 fittings also contain a dual layer stainless steel grip ring and separation ring which deliver the required joint strength when pressed.
KemPress fittings are not suitable for Medical Gas, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning applications, Acetylene, Urea Solution, Methanol, Glycerin Triacetate, Coolant Inhibitor, Sodium Hydroxide or Ammoniac-gaseous.

Water
Water applications use an EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) O-ring sealing element. This O-ring is suitable for standard water applications designated below. It can be used for domestic solar hot water applications. For industrial solar or hot water temperatures exceeding 120°C, the HT fitting should be used.
Gas
Gas applications use a HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) O-ring sealing element. HNBR has been used for decades in automotive and industrial applications. It is designed for gas, oil and chemical resistance. It is not suitable for drinking water. Gas fittings have a yellow O-ring and are clearly marked with a distinctive yellow colour and the word GAS.
High Temperature (HT)
High temperature applications use an FKM (fluorocarbon) O-ring sealing element. This O-ring is suitable for domestic or industrial solar hot water applications or applications where hot water temperatures exceed 120°C (up to 200°C), often at the collector. HT fittings have a red O-ring and arec learly marked with a distinctive red colour and the word HT.

An intensive ISO 9001 certified quality control system is applied to all MM Kembla KemPress fittings to ensure they confirm to AS3688 and Australian Watermark certification requirements.
MM Kembla warrants that if any installation using KemPress fittings becomes defective or fails and MM Kembla is notified of the details and is satisfied that the defect or failure was a result of a manufacturing defect and not the result of faulty specification, installation or incompatible environment, MM Kembla will replace or repair the defective goods and make good the installation.

Leak Path Feature
When un-pressed, all KemPress fittings are designed with a feature that will allow a small amount of water, or gas, to escape from the un-pressed joint. This is known as a ‘Leak Path’. This feature may take the form of either a specially engineered section of the sealing ring, or tolerances within the fitting itself. The ‘Leak Path’ is designed to work at low pressures, i.e. at 100KPa or less. KemPress fittings for EN 1057 copper tube are available for Water applications. Inside each fitting is a sealing element called an Elastomeric O-ring. Water applications use an EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) O-ring sealing element. This O-ring is suitable for standard water applications designated below. It can be used for domestic solar hot water applications. For industrial solar or hot water temperatures exceeding 120°C, the HT fitting should be used.
KemPress Water fittings are not suitable for LPG Gas, Medical Gas, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning applications, Acetylene, Urea Solution, Methanol, Glycerin Triacetate, Coolant Inhibitor, Sodium Hydroxide or Ammoniac-gaseous.

Water
Water applications use an EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) O-ring sealing element. This O-ring is suitable for standard water applications designated below. It can be used for domestic solar hot water applications. For industrial solar or hot water temperatures exceeding 120°C, the HT fitting should be used.
Gas
Gas applications use a HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) O-ring sealing element. HNBR has been used for decades in automotive and industrial applications. It is designed for gas, oil and chemical resistance. It is not suitable for drinking water. Gas fittings have a yellow O-ring and are clearly marked with a distinctive yellow colour and the word GAS.
High Temperature (HT)
High temperature applications use an FKM (fluorocarbon) O-ring sealing element. This O-ring is suitable for domestic or industrial solar hot water applications or applications where hot water temperatures exceed 120°C (up to 200°C), often at the collector. HT fittings have a red O-ring and arec learly marked with a distinctive red colour and the word HT.
